Hello?
[Komaeda’s low voice spoke softly, maybe a little unsure. He had sort of left without saying anything. But then, it’s not like anyone would have missed him or even noticed his absence!]
I have to confess I’m at a bit of lost as to what happened. I was just lucky I happened not be far away and could find the crash. But, this is a rather troubling development, isn’t it?

Where were you?!
text;
I went on a trip.
[As if that explained anything.]
no subject
Where did you go??
What did you do??
You missed meeting some other Super High School Levels, friends of mine! <(=3=)>
[She'll answer his much more important question, later,,]
no subject
[Unfortunate timing.]
I traveled all over. Going from cities to towns. Or well, as many places as I could manage at least. It was pretty nice. I got free room and bored almost everywhere! It almost felt like playing an open world RPG.

[Michael already knew that some Reclaimers tend to go off on other stuff, he's just kinda curious.]

But you have to meet Saihara-kun and Oma-kun!
Saihara Shuichi-kun is the Super High School Level Detective, and Oma Kokichi-kun is the Super High School Level Supreme Leader. Be nice to them, okay??
That's really cool... I'm glad you had a nice time.
You're back just in time, I guess. Or a little too late...
We were all in Thay trying to recover a Relic called the Lamp of Unwinding
A lot of stuff happened, we had to fight a lady called Casariel
She'd done something to the Wellspring of Magic, so when she died...
she took magic with her, as far as we can tell.

[Briefly.
But a formal introduction would be nice.
[To think that one person could cause such a terrible situation. Well no, that was easy. But it seemed hard when it involved all of magic.]
That would explain why I can't use any spells. I'm sure we can figure out a way to fix it thoug. Everyone is full so much Hope!
no subject
And I can see it's pretty disastrous. I can only imagine how terrible it would have been if I had been around.
no subject
I don't know about being full of Hope or anything, but I'm certain you're right!
As long as we don't give up and keep marching forward, everything will be just fine and dandy, I'm sure of it.
I'm really glad you're back with us, Komaeda-san.

I thought you'd never come back! I thought you were eaten! I thought you'd been torn limb from limb!
I've been crying myself to sleep every night over your absence!!!! .·´¯`(>▂<)´¯`·.

[And he could help but smile at her last words. It did help.]
With people like you it definitely will all be alright! This is almost like the climax of a story even.
And thank you, Akamatsu san.
wait no actually this is here
no subject
[Maybe not a LOT worse, but still!]
Oh, and I'm Michael. Former Hell architect.
no subject
[He couldn't even imagine his own classmates crying at his dissapearence.]
But, sorry?
no subject
What's a hell architect?
no subject
It does kind of feel like a crescendo, doesn't it?
You know, in music, most pieces resolve with a common theme to unite everything.
You coming back kind of feels like that! I hope a lot of the others can come back and rejoin us, too.
Hey, hey, did you bring back any souvenirs??
What was the music like where you went? ♪♪(o*゜∇゜)o~♪♪

no subject
It would be nice if everyone else could gather back as well.
[Though he wasn't going to expect it.]
Lots of lutes and folk style songs. Oh, and chants and hymns. I ended up staying at a lot of temples....
I did bring back gifts!
no subject
Did you ever make anyone have to kill each other...?
no subject
[It's a valid idea, but wouldn't really work out mechanically.]
Why?
no subject
[Junko would definitely be a perfect agent of torture.]
Well, I was thinking a place for people in hell would have to be worse than the Killing Games I've been part of or witnessed.
no subject
[Very fragile, humans. More to the point, that would've been crazy suspicious to just about everyone.]
Anyway, I was trying to prove a point about psychological torture. I can see how your thing involves that, but it leans way too much on murder.
no subject
[He just assumes there would be some kind of magical way to do that when demons are involved.]
Oh definitely. Though, I would say the true torture in it is forcing people I to a situation they don't want to participate in. Forcing their hands and taking their agency away. Giving a false choice and showing they really did not have one in the end.
What is psychological torture about neighborhoods?
no subject
[...OH! He sees!]
Oh! No, "neighborhoods" are just what we call the pocket dimensions we divide humans up into. Traditional lava torture, newfangled psychological torture, they're all called that.
no subject
Does that mean there are also rooms like Jean Paul Sartre wrote? I think that would be the worst. Customized personal halls. It would make sense to do that.
no subject
[Which, sure, they've got a lot of humans. But they also have unlimited time and resources!]
no subject
no subject
[It was bad! Torture's bad, actually!]
no subject
Though, I would like to say I do not enjoy torture. Suffering and Despair are not things I enjoy. But I can tolerate them 8f they bring Hope.
no subject
[And also figuring out his lies, but nonetheless.]
no subject
I'm not suprised. My class also came together when it mattered most. But then, I beleive deeply, despite everything, people will be guided by Hope to work together in the end.
How wonderful your project could create something so beautiful.
no subject
[he sounds sort of smitten, honestly]
A couple of them are here, actually!

I'm curious, how did you miss it?
no subject
no subject
Oh, I see... That's... good, I suppose. Well- If you're not already aware we've lost our ability to use magic recently.
no subject
How did you all manage to do that, I'm almost impressed!
no subject
We went searching for a relic in a small town called Thay. There was a dragon controlling time but... we failed to retrieve it. This seems to be a consequence of that.
no subject
[He wondered how such a thing could affect what he assumed was the entire world. It really was a big deal!]
What happened to the relic? Did someone misuse it?
no subject
Ah, I'm a practicing warlock. As for the relic, I'm not really sure about the details. I believe we attacked too soon and it was taken from us.
