Hello. For those who don't know me, I'm Shuichi Saihara. I don't really use the network very much but I need a favor and I have a few questions so here we are.

I'm a chemist, and as far as I know, I'm the only one...unless any of the new arrivals were assigned that path as well.
So that's my first question, I suppose. If there are any new chemists, I'd love to talk with you.
And I can try and answer any questions you might have, as well.

That said, I'm a little more confident in my abilities with potion making now, so I wanted to know if anyone had any requests or suggestions for me.
I've been mostly focusing on healing potions and poisons, but Wonderland made me realize that I need to expand my inventory beyond that.
But since that was my first mission...I'm not really sure what sort of things people would find helpful or useful. So I thought it would be better to ask those of you who have been here for a while.
I can't promise I'll actually be able to make a potion to fit the demand, since I'm still pretty new at this, but...I'll try my best.

And lastly, the favor.
This is going to sound a little morbid and weird but...does anyone have a set of animal bones I could borrow? Any animal is fine, and the more complete the skeleton, the better.
I need to test a potion to make sure I made it correctly...

Thank you!

[Hmm.]

I think that's kind of a limited way of going about it.

Sure, you'll get some requests from the rest of us, but that doesn't mean her input won't be useful. She's lived on this world her entire life, you know? Even if we've been out on these missions, there will always be things she knows that we won't. And besides that, she's a member of the Bureau, so she at least has a general idea of what we're meant to do, and what chemists are capable of.

At the very least, you could come to us after getting input from her and ask if we thought it might be useful. We might not always be able to come up with ideas off the top of our heads.

No problem. Just ask if there's anything I can do to help, but it sounds like you're getting the hang of it.

If I come up with any more ideas for potions, I'll let you know, too.

I get it. That's probably part of why learning sorcery hasn't been as hard for me as I thought it might, since it kind of lines up with what I had back home.

[Well, Warlock would probably be the closest, but figuring out how to harness it has been similar enough.]

Wizard magic took some time to get the hang of, but I like how studying gives you a concrete place to start. As long as you can find the books for it, anyway. It's definitely a different kind of work.

Right. There's a lot of getting into the theory and figuring out how to apply it, and plenty of interpreting the texts involved. Wizards don't always like to write things down in a way that's easily understood, I've found.

I'm sure you could apply research to a lot of other paths in some way, but they do seem more inclined towards physical training, focusing inner potential, or calling to a higher power. A book can only tell you so much about communing with a deity or swinging a blade, you know?

If you're interested in a lot of books and reading then it's definitely a good one to have. Practicing the spells is its own thing, too, but if you follow the books to the letter then you can pretty much get it in one try. It sounds like it might be the same with potions.

I get it. I'm used to exercising to some extent, but building up strength and reflexes with a weapon definitely takes a while. Especially compared to reading a book, which I've been doing most of my life...
