After the Call to Arms : Niel ; un: defeynseattorney
[The camera wobbles a moment as Mia holds it up, unsteady. A comment of-- 'is it on? oh-' as the world comes into view. It's a quiet world, eerily so, with so little behind them where there was so much before.
Mia's angled the camera so that it shows Honoka, Izuku, and Kokichi (Honoka between the two boys, clutching their hands tight, Kokichi's shoulder with Mia's hand gripping it, though she's mostly off screen.]
Ah... Everyone? Anyone.
[Anyone currently not incapacitated.]
They've done it. The relic-- it's. Our team has it secured.
[Mia doesn't sound much like celebrating, and Honoka, Izuku, and Kokichi don't look too much like it, either. Though they all seem to be physically better off than some of the others, there's an inescapable melancholy. Mia sounds tired when she speaks, pausing every few moments to catch her breath, even as she starts to lower the camera.
Kokichi holds the compact in his free hand, now, for the sake of transporting it-- momentarily visible by the camera, before really nothing of use is on it.]
I'm sorry to say that Niel... isn't with us.
I'll have more details for you later. For now... I'm taking them to the pharmacy in Shadowdale.
And if anyone's heard from Maya... Please contact me.
[the transmission ends, cutting out on the edge of Mia's budding panic. She'll go with the rest to meet the others, but then she has another priority.
A day or so later, Mia adds an addendum to the post by text. She's taken great pains to make sure she gets the names of her team right.]
I'm sorry for not adding more information earlier.
I'd first like to commend the strength of my team... Kokichi, Honoka, and Izuku showed great courage in the face of this. Without Kokichi and Honoka's lead, we may not have been able to secure the compact at all.
Niel willingly gave up the compact to us. However, it was already fused with him, long before we were sent to Wonderland. In giving it up, there was nothing left to sustain him.
[But... there's information she's guarding, it would seem, as well as information she's leaving up to Kokichi, Honoka, and Izuku to reveal at their own leisure.
Responses may come from any in the group, but ICly are likely to take place several days afterward. Kokichi and Mia are not publicly revealing the effects of their rolls with Adrian.]
